Charitable Remainder Trusts
As with a gift of life insurance, a valuable gift to the church can be made in the form of a Charitable Remainder Trust. A gift of this type can return annual income to the Trust owner during his or her lifetime while naming the Church as beneficiary to the principal, thereby reducing estate tax liability.

Gifts of Cash
Most gifts to First Baptist Church are made in the form of cash (including checks). Such gifts are the simplest type and produce immediate benefits to the ministry. Cash gifts generally qualify for income tax deductions as charitable contributions. At the end of every calendar year, we provide a receipt for tax purposes to all donors of cash that is tax deductible.

Gifts of Tangible Personal Property
In-kind gifts can be valuable means of providing desirable tax benefits while also providing capital assistance to First Baptist Church. Gifts of real estate, equipment, works of art, rare books, paintings, antiques or immediate use items such as computer equipment, books, office furniture, are all eligible contributions to the church.

Life Insurance
A gift can be made by naming First Baptist Church as owner and irrevocable beneficiary of a whole life policy. The gift may be a paid-up policy, an existing policy with a cash value, or a new policy.

Matching Gifts
Many employers offer a matching gifts program to their employees. With a matching gift, you can double or even triple the impact of your personal gift to First Baptist Church.

Planned Giving
An important source of private contributions comes to the church as planned gifts. You can designate your gift as a bequest in your will and estate planning documents.

Securities
A gift of appreciated, long-term securities has several advantages, including the provision of both an income tax deduction equal to the fair market value of the securities, and the avoidance of capital gains taxes on the transfer. See your attorney for advice regarding these matters.
